Women's Forum

September 26, 2007 - Women's Forum Meeting

"Nuggets" on Strategies for Success:

  • Be flexible and adaptable.
  • Be confident (even when you don't feel it), but be yourself.
  • Be persistent - it pays off - and don't take NO.
  • Learn to bounce back and follow your instincts.
  • Create and use an elevator speech.
  • Stay in touch with people you meet.
  • Write everything down.
  • Learn to say no, but also volunteer.
  • Aim high.
  • Prioritize.
  • Reduce stress and get a life!
  • Create a group within your industry - create a mastermind group outside your industry - find a support system.
  • Network-Network-Network.  Attend events where you feel your prospects will be.
  • Don't overdo- take care of yourself.
  • Listen to others - find a mentor.  Listen (this is different than just listening to others).
  • Pay attention to details.
  • Brainstorm, stay focused, delegate whenever possible.
  • Learn to manage and balance your time.
  • Use motivational tools (books/audio/TV programs/classes/seminars).
  • Get to events early and introduce yourself (it is less intimidating when there are less people in the room).

What to expect at an RBA Women’s Forum meeting

Meetings are typically attended by between 30-50 participants. Most are women though some men join us. Meetings attract corporate as well as entrepreneurial members.

Each meeting includes:

  • Introductions: About one minute in an "Elevator Speech" format which is described below. Through the introductions we set the stage for doing business together!

  • Member Profile: One or two members share their story – how they’ve achieved success, their mentors and key landmarks. This popular segment is always inspiring.

  • Program: Our programs are always educational, and always interactive so that we can learn from one another as our relationships deepen and prosper.

Women’s Forum meetings begin by circling the room for everyone’s elevator speech, or short summary about your business. Below, find a format which might be useful.
