The California Highway Patrol reports the following scheme is spreading across the nation, so don’t fall for it.
Carjackers have been placing a piece of paper on the middle of car’s rear windows. When drivers start their cars and go to move into reverse they notice the paper, put the parking brake on and get out to remove it. When they step out of the car, carjackers jump in and drive away with their vehicle.
So if you notice a piece of paper on your back window, obstructing your view, drive away a safe distance before removing it, just in case. |
