RBA Press Release: Winners for 11th Annual Averell Harriman International Trade Awards Announced

The winners have been announced for the 11th annual Averell Harriman International Trade Awards, hosted this year by the Rockland Business Association, May 23 at the Holiday Inn & Conference, Suffern.

Winners

  • Exporter of the Year, Sales to $10 Million – Fleurcham Inc., based in Middletown.

  • Exporter of the Year, Sales $10-$50 Million - Oxygen Electronics LLC, based in White Plains

  • Importer of the Year – Dress Barn, based in Suffern.

  • Trade Partner – Pace University, based in White Plains.

  • Trade Partner – County of Westchester.

  • International Company of the Year – Nexans, based in Chester.

  • Special Recognition – Hugh Marius

The Awards are being held in conjunction with World Trade Week. Rockland County has not hosted the event since 2000.

"International trade is vital to our region's economy. This event raises awareness of that and it is an honor when of the seven counties represented, it is Rockland's turn to host," RBA CEO and President Al Samuels said.

"The event highlights our region as one of the premier locations in the global economy," he added.  

The Awards were founded in 1996 to recognize companies and individuals who have excelled in international trade in the Hudson Valley.   

The Platinum Sponsor for the dinner this year and for the past several years is HSBC Bank.  Gold Sponsor is Active International. Media Sponsors include the newly formed, RBA sponsored, Rockland Business Digest and the Hudson Valley Business Journal.

A Trade Expo will be featured during the cocktail reception and networking portion of the event from 5pm to 7pm. A booth display costs $275. The dinner and awards presentation will run from 7pm to 9pm. Reservations for dinner and cocktail hour are $85 per person.
