A survey sponsored by Tomorrow’s Workplace and the Rockland Business Association has found that there is a high demand for IT workers in Rockland County.
The survey of 26 companies in varied industries found that 65% were planning to hire new IT staff in the next 12 months. The survey indicated that there was plenty of room for people relatively inexperienced in the field; 38% of companies were interested in hiring entry-level positions and 44% had positions available for those with experience of 1 to 3 years. Employers said they expected to find their workers via referrals from current employees or through Internet advertising.
Employers were also polled to find the most needed computer knowledge and skills and were questioned on the challenges and benefits to recruiting workers in Rockland County.
