The RBA will be addressing the mid-term elections this November, inviting two prominent political analysts to speak at membership events.
Tony Blankley, Editorial Page Editor of the Washington Times and a regular panelist on The McLaughlin Group television program has been tapped to address members at the RBA’s Annual Celebrity Dinner on November 15.
Blankley, a native of England, is a naturalized resident of United State. He has served as press secretary to then Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and as an analyst and writer for President Ronald Reagan. Blankley will discuss where he sees the nation heading following the mid-term elections.
He will be the second leg of an election season focus by the RBA. Jay Gallagher, Albany Bureau Chief and political columnist for Gannet Newspapers, will address the General Membership Luncheon on November 9. Gallagher will talk about where he sees New York State heading after the mid-terms.
“The nation is facing one of its most crucial mid-term elections in its recent history. We want our members to be well apprised of where we are heading. So many issues could be decided; the future conduct of the Iraq War, alone, makes this election of the utmost interest,” RBA CEO and President Al Samuels said.
The past two years the RBA had invited Democrats Eliot Spitzer and Mario Cuomo to speak at the Annual Dinner.
“This year we invited a Conservative. As always we are committed to providing a diverse spectrum of ideas at RBA events. It’s going to be fun,” Samuels said.
The Annual Celebrity Dinner will take place November 15, 6:00pm -10:00 pm at the Pearl River Hilton. The cost is $200 for an RBA member and $250 for non-members. The General Membership Luncheon will take place November 9, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at Opus Entertainment, 4th Floor of the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, NY. The cost is $35 members and $55 non-members.
