With the passing of the holiday season and the coming winter chill you will probably be looking for things to do to keep your brain and body moving this January. Have no fear, for the RBA is offering members many interesting events to attend during the coldest month of the year.
Don’t miss next month's biggest event, as RBA CEO and President Al Samuels will give his annual "State of the Rockland Business Association" address at the monthly General Membership Luncheon, Thursday, January 18, from 11:30am-1:30pm at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center in Suffern.
Samuels has plenty to reflect on, as it's been a busy year; the RBA has created its own Political Action Committee, while continuing to grow its membership and feature cutting-edge events for its membership. Mahoney Asset Management is sponsoring the event. The cost is $35 for members and $55 for non-members, RSVP is required (845) 735-2100.
The Government Affairs committee will meet as usual the first Wednesday of the month, January 3, at 8am in the Blue Hill Campus of Iona College in Pearl River, downstairs from the RBA office. Dick Kohlhausen, incoming committee chair, and others will lead a discussion on where politics stand in New York as the Spitzer administration takes charge and how Rockland’s business community can best tap into the change in Albany. There is no charge, please RSVP (845) 735-2100.
On Thursday, January 4 at 4pm-6pm in Dominican College’s Casey Hall the monthly meeting of the Technology Initiative has invited Robert Glemming, President of the Wappingers Falls based company Q-Search. The topic of his conversation will be Customer Relationship Management. There is no charge, but please RSVP (845) 735-2100.
Rockland County’s coolest happy hour party, also known as the RBA "Business After-Hours" will take place Thursday, January 9 at 5:30pm-7:30pm in the Pearl River Hilton. This event is a chance for members to meet and network in a more social setting. January's BAH is being sponsored by Rockland County's official business-to-business magazine, Rockland Business Digest. Fee is $15 for members and $30 for non-members, please RSVP (845) 735-2100.
Another popular monthly networking event offered by the RBA is "Relationship Building Network." Every month, on average, 60+ RBA members will attend the event, which has helped refine the networking process and will get your day started with some good energy. This month NWB will take place Thursday, January 11, from 7:45am-9:30am at Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Center NYS Thruway Exit 14B, Suffern, NY. It is sponsored by DEC Copiers. The charge is $20 for members and $35 for non-members. Registration & Cancellation Deadline is 1/5/07, (845) 735-2100.
