Free "Ask the Pros" Seminar Offered by RBA’s Home Improvement Alliance
April 5, 2006
by Dylan Skriloff

The Rockland Business Association’s Home Improvement Alliance presents a free seminar, "Ask the Pros," at the New City Library, April 20th, from 7pm-9pm.

Six home improvement trades will be represented at the seminar, which is intended to offer homeowners an opportunity to ask home improvement professionals questions in a non-selling environment. Various "how-to" articles will be available for attendees to take home.

Presenting at the seminar will be:

  • Roofing Contractor Lou Silver of Silver Roofing Inc. in Garnerville;

  • Real Estate Agent Regina Carmel of Regina Carmel/Prudential Rand Real Estate in New City;

  • Interior Designer Rona Brand of Color Consults in Nyack;

  • Water Quality Consultant Matt O'Toole of Abbey Ice & Spring Water in Spring Valley;

  • Mortgage Loan Officer Michael Weitzman;

  • Home Organizer Manufacturer Rich Franco of Closet Concepts in New City.

Franco, who is Alliance Co-chair, said he expects 30-40 homeowners to attend the meeting. Should everything go well, there will be future seminars on other topics, he said. The Alliance was formed in July to create a networking environment among businesses involved in the home improvement trade. This is the Alliance’s first public outreach effort.
