Michael DiTullo, President and CEO of Mid-Hudson Pattern for Progress, long-time RBA friend and guest speaker at many RBA events, will give a talk on the Global Hudson Valley Initiative at the March General Membership Luncheon, held March 16 from 11:30am-1:30pm at the Park Ridge Marriot in Park Ridge, NJ.
The GHVI is a collaboration of regional leaders representing economic and environmental issues as well social inclusion and governance areas. They are looking to form a cohesive economic vision for the Hudson Valley to succeed in the global business climate and to create consensus and cooperation among varying counties and localities. Recently they have published the Global Hudson Valley Sourcebook which maps out the region’s potential place in the global economy.
DiTullo has long been involved in promoting the future of the Hudson Valley. His fear is that the region can become just "another place" with an uncoordinated, poorly structured and failing economy, social decay and a degraded environment. But he believes there is potential for prosperity here and looks at the region as being historically rich in innovation.
DiTullo has coined the GHVI’s motto, which is, "Cooperate locally to win regionally. Cooperate regionally to win globally." |
