Outgoing Chair of the Women's Forum Linda Fitzpatrick was honored with a ceremony at the RBA's February General Membership Luncheon. RBA CEO and President Al Samuels presented her with a glass flame trophy to signify her contribution as a "guiding light."
"Its representative of the incredible gift of self you've given to the business community and women of Rockland," Samuels said.
Fitzpatrick said she was very proud to have helped women achieve balance between their career objectives, family lives and other concerns and noted that American businesswomen were leading the world for all business women.
She told the RBA Newsletter that she had to have a talk with herself before heading to the luncheon that afternoon. While Fitzpatrick is known for her love of the podium, she said she has a hard time with the spotlight.
Fran Reinstein of Devon Resources LLC and Ellen Bernstein, President of Accent on Promotions, Inc. will be taking over as co-chairs of the Forum. Fitzpatrick says she plans to help Bernstein and Reinstein in their mission. In her time as Chair, she was lead mentor to hundreds of aspiring businesswomen.
Samuels said he knew of at least eight women who changed the entire direction of their businesses thanks to work accomplished at the Forum and another five that had joined the RBA from outside of Rockland County specifically to join the Women's Forum.
The Women's Forum's next scheduled meeting is March 7 from 2:30PM to 5:00PM at the Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University. The Women's Forum is free to all RBA members. Non-RBA members can attend the Women's Forum one time to see if they would like to join the association.
