| You can help Rockland County's youth get an early start in business by volunteering in Tomorrow's Workplace's new Achievement Counts Program.
The agency is seeking volunteers in all professions to participate in the newly launched program which aims to teach 7th and 8th graders about potential careers. The program emphasizes the important connection between success in school and success in the workplace.
One of the program's goals is to provide youths insight into life in the "real world" and what they'll need to do to prepare themselves for success. Volunteers will discuss their career paths in 35 minutes seminars at local middle schools.
"We want Rockland's youth to go into their postsecondary education with a strong understanding of their career opportunities, which will ad to our productive, diverse workforce," Tomorrow's Workplace Executive Director Pam Weisberg said.

The Rockland Business Women's Network offered their assistance in providing volunteers at the launch of the program last month. The program is now expanding and additional volunteers are needed.
If you are interested in volunteering the commitment is one hour, twice a year. Tomorrow's Workplace is holding training sessions for volunteers on October 26 at 6:30pm and October 27 at 2:30pm.
Please contact Pam Weisberg at 845-356-5100 if you are interested.
