Rockland County Sheriff James Kralik will address the question "Can We Defeat Terrorism?" at the Rockland Business Association's annual membership meeting November 10.

County leaders in law enforcement and politics have organized to prevent terrorist activity in Rockland since the 9/11 attacks. Kralik will be presenting a progress report at the meeting and sharing his ideas of how the business community can help the effort.

"I'll be addressing the world we live in and the responsibility of public and private agencies in defeating the terrorist threat," Kralik said.

New slate of Directors appointed

The annual membership meeting takes place during the general membership luncheon every November. The meeting is a time of official business for RBA members as board members are voted to three year terms and others are retired.

This year Eric Dranoff, Carolyn Fish, Linda Fitzpatrick, Michael Hochman, Richard Kohlhausen, Burt Steinberg and Dr. Cliff L. Wood are all being voted to three year terms. Dave Heinrich, Richard Struck, Thomas Condon and Dr. Dodge Watkins are retiring. The slate of Board Officers for 2006 are Howard Hellman, Chairman, Hector May, Vice Chairman, Burt Steinberg, Vice Chairman, Harold Peterson, Treasurer and Gregg Kroner, Secretary.

Special recognition will be given at the membership meeting to RBA member Jeff Sherman who recently completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq and to Larry Weiss of Atlantic Business Products, who insured Sherman's job was there for him when he came home. This meeting will be at the Rockland Country Club in Sparkill from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
