The Rockland Business Association has partnered with United Way of Rockland County to create a first-of-its-kind golf tournament in Rockland County.
The "Rockland Open" will take place Monday, May 21 at two golf courses - Rockland Country Club in Sparkill and Minisceongo Golf Club in Pomona. Presenting sponsors for the event are – Active International and Good Samaritan Hospital. Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs of the Rockland Business Association and the United Way of Rockland County.
Rockland Country Club will host a Corporate Challenge event in which corporate foursomes will compete against each other for top showing and a magnificent Corporate Trophy. Minisceongo Golf Club will host a more traditional outing allowing for foursomes and individual entries who will be partnered with others. Various prizes and a hole-in-one competition will be offered for participants. In the past the RBA held a golf outing for members, but the Rockland Open will be for all.
"Anyone can play in the Rockland Open. Anyone can be a sponsor. That’s why it’s called the Rockland Open – it’s open," RBA CEO and President Al Samuels said.
"It's really open to everybody in Rockland and surrounding areas. It's a fun, great day at two wonderful golf courses. We want to attract all businesses because as you know, golf becomes a networking function and you never who you might meet while you are playing golf," RBA Vice President of Administration Joan Neumann said.
