Oak Beverages Inc. (Blauvelt, NY), a leading New York-Metropolitan area beer wholesale distributor, has been nominated to receive the Inaugural 2007 "Craft Beer Distributor of the Year Award" which is being presented jointly by the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) and Brewers Association (BA).
In a letter to Oak Beverages President Debra Boening, a member of the RBA Board of Directors, NBWA President Craig Purser wrote, "This award recognizes distributors who go above and beyond to market, sell and promote craft beers in their business. Your nomination recognizes your company's strong commitment to the craft beer segment." Oak, which received a plaque commemorating its nomination, will learn if it is a final winner at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival in Denver.
About the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA)
Founded in 1938, the NBWA is an association for independent malt beverage distributors. NBWA advocates on behalf of more than 2,750 licensed beer distributors nationwide before government and the public.
