Tell Albany, we need more jobs, not more taxes and fees
February 5, 2010

As they debate the new budget proposal put forth by Governor Paterson, members of the legislature must promise all New Yorkers that they won’t raise taxes to pay for programs we can’t afford. Enough already!

The governor has proposed a budget for the new fiscal year with almost no increase in state spending – less than 1 percent growth. That is the right way to go. The NYS Legislature must support the same approach.

Remind your representatives that the best way to improve New York’s economy is to help the private sector create jobs. Imposing more job-killing taxes, unfunded mandates and fee increases is the wrong way to deal with New York’s fragile economy and ongoing budget crisis.

Please -- urge your legislators in Albany to take meaningful steps to address our chronic budget problems by reducing spending so that New York State government finally starts to live within its means, like the rest of us.

Send a message now to your representatives in Albany - No new taxes; no new spending!
