Bernstein Receives 2010 Hall of Fame Award

The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) announced the recipient of their 2010 Hall of Fame Award.

The thirty-fourth recipient of the SAAGNY Hall of Fame award is Ellen Bernstein, MAS, Accent On Promotions, Pomona, NY. Ellen’s service to SAAGNY has been long in duration and encompasses every key aspect of the association. She served on the SAAGNY Board of Directors from 1999 to 2005 and held the positions of Director, Treasurer, Secretary, President Elect, President and Immediate Past President; Ellen was Co-Chair of PROMOTIONS EAST, and served on several SAAGNY committees.
  
A firm believer in volunteering, Ellen has been a driving force behind The SAAGNY Foundation, which reaches out to under-funded and un-recognized charities, concentrating on organizations and programs that benefit children.

Ellen instituted  a $1,000 annual scholarship for deserving college students. The program has awarded thirty-eight scholarships since its inception. Ellen was inducted into The SAAGNY Foundation Hall of Fame in 2007 and has served as Chair for four years.

Ellen’s service has not been restricted to SAAGNY but has encompassed community service as well. She served two terms as President of the Rockland Business Women’s Network and serves as Co-Chair of the prestigious Rockland Business Association’s Women’s Forum. A lover of animals, Ellen volunteers at the Hudson Valley Humane Society working with the animals and assisting in their fund raising campaigns. In addition, she was a volunteer riding instructor for a horse program for the handicapped at Camp Venture for ten years. Tweet
