Minutes from Small Business Council meeting May 31, 2007

The Small Business Council has new Co-Chairs: Lena Bodin and Paul Rafanello.

1. PowerPoint presentation, stated agenda, purpose, and overview of the Small Business Council.

2. Lena and Paul discussed that this will be a very interactive group, with breakout sessions, guest speakers and spotlights. The group suggested that successful people within the RBA should be the speakers.

3. Ann Zeilingold volunteered to be the Secretary. Maria Rodd volunteered to be the Coordinator for the Spot Lights. Kurt Griffith volunteered to be the Media/Graphics Coordinator.

• The spotlight volunteers for June are Jim O’Connell and Muriel Morgan.

• The spotlight volunteers for July are Harvey Iwata and Ann Zeilingold

4. Lively discussion on whether information and questions should be in the RBA website, a blog, or an anonymous suggestion box.  For now, all suggestions should be emailed to Paul.  His email is paul@prcpa.com.

Co-chairs discussed that they want this group to be more of a “round table” and how this would be handled if the group were to grow.

There was a suggestion: Carve out a 5-minute block of time to discuss and bring up a topical item that affects Rockland County.

Roger Scheiber said that the PowerPoint should be posted on the website and announce information regarding this forum on the emailed reminders.
