  • 8:49 am – Keynote Speaker – Peter DeLisser – “How to speak so prospects will listen”
    • Problem – does not know what language we all speak; get a partner. Share with your partner what are the two colors that most interest you. It is important to know how the prospect hears us. Start by asking a few questions. Was doing a workshop at a homeless center – transformed the room by finding out what they wanted and giving them what they want.
    • When starts out, if does not know a prospect, begins speaking the language of the clothing they are wearing and also considers their title.
    • Asked audience to choose the two colors which most relate to how we process information relating to time, information and learning (top right box).
    • How to determine what “color” your prospect is: consider their “title” – and identify their color on the chart on side two of handout:
    • Also look at desk – is it organized, neat or messy? If not a piece of paper on desk – action oriented, delegates everything – red. What language – short, detailed (red) or a lot of information (yellow or blue – not green, but not fully red). Listen to their voice mail – lots of information? Yellow.
    • Figure out what language they speak and listen to and put it in their language. When you communicate with people, they listen through their own framework.
  • 9:23 am – Closing Announcements:
